Straw & Blue Hues

Tufts of rust, straw and blue hues. Black steel framed garden vignettes. Long lawn, a serene space, for lazy afternoons only.

The brief

For this family home, the client dreamed of a vista. Scenes of green to be viewed from the house, a garden that considers and shows sensitivity to the existing trees. Privacy is essential to truly relax.

Site response

When you are blessed with a site surrounded by stunning mature plants, privacy comes easy. With the frame in place, our task is to fill in the canvas.

A painterly autumnal planting palette has been chosen to help highlight the architecture within the landscape. We'll renovated the existing kidney-shaped pool and nestled it into the landscape using a dissolving boundary of paving and a setback pool fence hidden amongst planting. Less of a focal point, more a surprise pocketed away back there.
